Caravan Step Issues – A Solution?

In the last edition we raised the issue of caravan steps slipping and people falling, leading to liability claims. Thanks to the feedback of one of our readers we may have a solution.
Amanda Langton of G&T Towing, Hatfield Hertfordshire, had a claim involving someone falling from caravan steps. G&T Towing, as a result, now use steps fitted with an aluminium strip attached which goes under the wheel of the caravan. This strip is weather resistant, cannot slip and the step cannot be stolen as it is pinned down by the weight of the caravan. All caravans on display now have this modified step fitted.
