Ladder Exchange is back!

The HSE have re-introduced the Ladder Exchange scheme following its success in recent months.
The latest scheme runs until November 30th 2010 and provides UK businesses with an easy and simple way to replace broken, damaged or bent ladders and trade them in for safe new ones.
Since its launch, Ladder Exchange has resulted in nearly 7000 dodgy ladders being removed from use.
This is particularly important, as last year there were over 4000 injuries at work caused by falls from height - including 35 fatalities. In addition to the injuries sustained by the persons who fell, the majority of these cases also resulted in prosecution for the employer, with average fines of over £12500.
