Lawns Event a Great Success

Oct 29, 2010

For the 2nd year Leisuredays & Wilby Ltd hosted an evening of merriment & fun in the build up to the Lawns show.

The first port of call for the 70+ guests was call my bluff wine tasting. Some guests were obviously wine connoisseurs and performed better than others although with a very convincing panel it was a difficult competition.

Whilst the wine tasting was proceeding each table was also doing the first part of the pub quiz. As usual the pub quiz was brilliantly conducted by Leisuredays Ross Gardiner and caused much debate & the odd argument!

We also wanted to do our bit on the charity front and we asked guests to let us know what their ideal leisure day was and to put a donation into an envelope. The winner, Sammy Wood of Burton Constable Holiday Park, will be enjoying an evening at the theatre in London’s West End including a pre-theatre dinner and a nights stay in a Kensington Hotel.

A fabulous evening was had by all and £650 was raised for NCC Benevolent Fund which was first created in 1976 by NCC members to support people within the caravan industry, including their dependants. Over the years, the NCC Benevolent Fund has been able to help many ex industry employees who have either fallen on hard times due to personal issues, or needed a little help to recover from illness.

Next years event is already in the planning so watch this space.
