Why every company should manage its Occupational Road Risk
Mark Deere of Advanced Driving Techniques explains...
In today’s ever more competitive environment every company or business is looking for ways to improve their bottom line. All too often, easy routes to increasing profit are either missed or not even considered.
One way in which you can improve your bottom line is by addressing how you run your fleet of vehicles. With correct driver training the following savings can normally be achieved:
• Up to 15% reduction in fuel costs
• Up to 40% reduction in fleet insurance over a 3 year period
• Up to 10% reductions in maintenance costs
Applying this formula to a fleet of 10 cars using normal averages the company would save £4325. Deduct from this the cost of driver training and compliance £1750 – which includes a free driver handbook and road risk policy document worth £200.
A staggering £2575 is then returned to the bottom line.
In addition, the company and its board are protecting themselves from possible prosecution in the event of a major accident.
