Wilby is ready. Are you?

Oct 18, 2011

Wilby recently practiced its disaster recovery plan that would be implemented should any disaster strike, such that Gordon House, the head office, was taken out of use. Disasters such as a fire, extensive internal flooding, loss of access due to a gas leak or civil disturbance could prevent Wilby from operating from the head office building in central Halifax. We have a plan in place to minimise any disruption to our clients by transferring key staff to a disaster recovery centre within the offices of our sister company. The necessary IT equipment is in place, telephone lines will be re-directed and temporary holding messages for the website have been prepared.

Our Business Continuity Management Plan requires that the plan is tested at least annually and that quarterly reviews are carried out for other business continuity threat scenarios such as loss of IT facilities or loss of key staff.

We are required by FSA rules to have a tested business continuity plan in place. However, we feel such a plan is essential for our business to give our clients the confidence that we will always be available regardless of a potential disaster.

Wilby Risk Management can assist clients in identifying potential business disaster scenarios, in devising appropriate business continuity strategies and testing any disaster recovery plans.
