ASH Projects supplies a full range of IT infrastructure, electrical and network solutions.
The company works in new and re-modelled stores for national retailers and with private and public sector organisations providing data cabling and asset renewal work.
The business was established in 2002 and has grown to its present size supplemented with contract labour. Projects are carried out across the UK.
Background
ASH Projects had been trading successfully for several years relying on the health & safety competence of its in-house management team. As the company grew, it was apparent some external audit of its health & safety systems was needed to provide a gap analysis of the current arrangements and recommend areas for improvement. Also, as larger clients were being won, tenders & contract scopes were highlighting the need for competent external advice to support the team at Ash Projects.
The Result
Wilby Risk Management was asked to audit the existing company’s procedures and offer assistance with pre-qualification questionnaires.
Through a meeting with the company’s senior management team and a review of the current documentation, Wilby Risk Management identified some areas for features of the company’s health & safety policy and procedures that could be improved including training, monitoring and documentation. These recommendations have already helped the company continue with its growth strategy.
The risk management consultant involved in the project had previously worked with ASH Projects’ major clients and was experienced in the sector and industry. This allowed the recommended improvements from the audit to focus on the areas of H&S management that were most relevant to the business and to its clients.
Wilby Risk Management continues to act as the external health & safety advisor to ASH Projects and provides on- going support to the management team.
