As a multi-disciplinary general contractor, West End’s services range from reactive maintenance to house building, and from bespoke joinery manufacture to sub-contract joinery works. The company are active in both the public and private sectors with specific focus on health, education and social housing regeneration.
Background
West End Joiners & Builders Ltd had robust health & safety procedures in place as part of its efficient project management arrangements. Following the retirement of their previous Health & Safety Consultant, the company were looking for a new consultant that could provide a service that could maintain and improve the current systems, but also provide health & safety training for staff, assistance with accreditation systems and audits at both their own premises and on site.
The Result
Wilby Risk Management has construction, joinery and associated machinery experience within its consultancy team. This allows its risk management consultants to quickly identify the major risks associated with the tasks and projects undertaken by the company.
Wilby Risk Management assists the company with its Annual CHAS Accreditation, completion of health & safety aspects of tender documents, delivers regular health & safety related training in topics including Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness and PPE use. There are regular site visits to ensure staff are working correctly on third party sites and an annual review of the health & safety policy and head office functions, during which Wilby Risk Management contributes to the on-going improvement process.
Wilby Risk Management continues to act as the external health & safety advisor to West End Joiners & Builders Ltd delivering services when required and providing on-going support to the Directors and Contracts Managers.
